A Newly Imagined Contemporary Home Luxuriates In Views of the Pacific and a Verdant Nature Reserve

BEFORE

Originally built in 1954, The split-level ranch-style structure not only lacked sufficient living space for its owners but also possessed none of the luxury or flair befitting a contemporary home in one of Southern California’s most prized communities.

AFTER

A project built by CdM HOMES , an architecture design by Brandon Architects, and contemporary interior design by BRANA Designs, the goal was to completely reimagine, rebuild, and redesign the home to create a masterpiece of “Organic Contemporary™” design. Featuring the finest of natural materials, and contemporary furnishing, the new residence fully responds to and interacts with its surroundings to create an experience that offers true, luxurious indoor/outdoor living combined with blissful privacy.

At the entrance, a ceiling-to-floor waterfall counterpointed by an open gas fire pit bids welcomes to a private courtyard. Beyond, expansive walls of glass and folding doors maximize ocean and canyon views from every room. Interior walls, like the exteriors, are adorned with the finest stone, underscoring the harmony between the living space and its surroundings.

The spacious master suite, among four bedrooms (plus an additional fifth Pacific-facing flexible space), enjoys pride of place on its own separate level. Here a large ocean-view deck provides some of the most spectacular vistas of all, including beautiful Catalina Island.

INTERIOR DESIGN IDEAS

Working in perfect synch with developers of CdM Homes, Newport Beach, and Los Angeles interior designer BRANA Designs maximized the potential in this contemporary home for luxurious yet understated fine living surrounded by the spectacular ocean and canyon views.

Maximizing understated luxury.

A floor-to-ceiling wine area, a large-screen video monitor that rises from a custom cabinet at the foot of the master bed, a steam shower in the master bath, and an outdoor Jacuzzi on a private canyon bluff.

Making the view part of the decor.

Luxurious yet understated furnishings and finishes in natural tones create an ambiance of unparalleled ease while always complementing the views beyond the windows.

Putting technology at your service.

From an elevator to state-of-the-art appliances to smart systems that integrate all of the home’s environmental and entertainment controls, every aspect of the home is conceived for ease, comfort, and security.

Complementing moonlight with firelight.

Sleek modern fireplaces, including those in the living room and the master bedroom, accompany sweeping views of the nighttime sky with the glow of flickering flames.

Extending rooms beyond their walls.

Walls of floor-to-ceiling glass give way to extensive patios and terraces beyond, enhancing a sense of privacy while always offering an invitation to enjoy the open air and sunshine or starlight.

In many more such large and small ways alike, our ‘Organic Contemporary” approach of contemporary interior design helped transform a vision into reality and transformed the originally uninspired space into one of the most luxurious residences in Corona del Mar.
